Who runs it

The competitions on fearparadox.com/competition are run by Cain Blythe, the promoter. You can reach him through the contact form or at [email protected].

Entering

Entry is free and you don't need to buy anything. Joining the launch list is optional and has no effect on your chances. You must be 18 or over to enter, and you can enter from anywhere in the world. Cain Blythe's family and anyone working on the book can't enter.

Closing date

Both competitions are open until further notice. We will post the closing date on the competition page at least 14 days before entries close.

Judging and winners

Cain Blythe picks the winners, judging entries on originality and how well they fit the book. We will tell winners by email within 60 days of the closing date. If a winner doesn't reply within 28 days, we may pick another. The judge's decisions are final.

Prizes

Each winner gets a one-hour call with Cain Blythe, held within six months of the winners being told. If and when the book is published, winners will also be acknowledged by name in it and sent a signed first-edition hardback. The book does not yet have a publisher, so we can't give a date for these.

The cover vote

The cover vote is advisory. It helps us see which design readers prefer, but the final cover may be decided by the publisher.

How we use entries

You keep the copyright in your entry. By entering, you give Cain Blythe a free, non-exclusive licence to show it, with credit to you, on fearparadox.com and his social media channels. Using a cover design on the published book would need a separate written agreement with you. We may quote 2075 entries, with credit.

Your data

The privacy notice explains what we collect when you enter and how long we keep it.
